CES 2014: three new products for the health iHealth Smart on iPhone and ... - Macity

The continuous measurement of vital data to the general public comes with 3 new products presented by iHealth at CES 2014.

It widens the amount and function of products for the health monitoring of iHealth, the company Uwe Diegel that one of the first in this area has focused: get a wrist pulse oximeter, to monitor the heart rhythm and a holter: all connected to a smartphone.

In the halls of Las Vegas dedicated to health “smart” circulated a young woman with a strange jacket worn over a t-shirt and hindsight was not a promotional gimmick but just demonstrating “live” Wireless Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitor , a product of Health dedicated to the continuous measurement of blood pressure. The monitoring system is capable of detecting continuous data without altering the normal activities of the patient at the same time sending their data to a smartphone or keeping in main memory up to 200 readings that can in any case be scheduled at predefined intervals of 15 or more minutes: this together with the detection of other data taken from sensors and devices specific to health may be able to provide a complete picture of the causes and effects of the phenomenon of hypertension on the individual patient.

The second device, Wireless Ambulatory Electrocardiogram (ECG) , it is not a novelty for those who have visited the stands of Health at the recent show but in any case the finalization of a long-awaited product : This is a monitor for heart rhythm that is attached to the chest of the patient through an adhesive and can be placed there for the whole day so as to provide an ECG, electro cardiogram complete smartphone patient collegamenteo thanks to Bluetooth. Thanks to the connection you can report a specific event of irregular heartbeat or in any case provide real-time data to a doctor or a relative. The memory of the device is up to 72 hours and may represent a simplified alternative to the installation of a Holter.

The third device, Wireless Pulse Oximeter , is a new type of pulse oximeter wrist even in this case dedicated to the continuous measurement data of blood oxygen saturation and pulse rate that is synchronized either via bluetooth with compatible smartphones to show a diagram of the data over time. The data collection is carried out as for other devices with the screening of two beams (one red and the other infarosso) on the capillaries of the finger to detect the level of light absorption of different oxygenated blood than in deoxygenated.

The possibility of a continuous control of these data together with the management of the other tools of holter monitor type and those of other sensors are able to offer a process of continuous monitoring of the patient and the possibility to compare with tools relativente cheap but especially adored Portable all the vital data necessary for a more thorough diagnosis. The products will arrive on the market as they are approved by the regulatory bodies.
